Processing and heat treatment:

Polishing: S136H uses 180-320 mesh grinding wheel or grinding stone for initial grinding, 400-800 mesh sandpaper or powder grinding, diamond paste with a particle size of 12.6 and 3pm, and the polished product after quenching and tempering.

 

Grinding: Proper grinding techniques can avoid cracks and extend tool life. If the material is ground under low temperature tempering, it becomes very sensitive during the grinding process. Only soft, fine-grained grinding wheels should be used, and a good coolant must be provided.

 

Welding: Tool steel should generally be avoided as it is prone to cracking. If the preparations before welding are done, such as preheating the welding part, it is easier to succeed, and stress relief tempering must be carried out immediately after welding.

 

Stress relief: After rough machining, it must be heated to 650°C, soaked for 2 hours, slowly cooled to 500°C, and then air-cooled.

 

Annealing: heated to 780°C under protection, then cooled to 650°C in a furnace at a rate of 10°C per hour, then cooled in air.

 

Hardening: preheating temperature 600~850℃, quenching temperature 980~1050℃.

 

Quenching medium: oil, quenching in salt bath furnace at 200~550℃, air cooling.

 

Compressed air: circulating air or atmosphere.
