FT64 Plastic Mold Steel

FT64 steel is a domestic medium-carbon high-chromium corrosive plastic mold steel, which belongs to the Austin type mold steel and has good horse formability. After quenching and recovery, it has excellent corrosion resistance, polishability, high strength and wear resistance. But the soldering is not good and needs attention. Hardening is usually no longer required; in special cases, can be hardened to 40HRC round bar with a recovery hardness higher than 50HRC and has super mirror machinability

One. Product Description

FT64 steel is a domestic medium-carbon high-chromium corrosive plastic mold steel, which belongs to the Ma Austin type mold steel and has good machinability. After quenching and recovery, it has excellent corrosion resistance, polishability, high strength and wear resistance. But the welding is not good, need to pay attention. Hardening is usually no longer required; in special cases, it can be hardened into a 40HRC round bar, the recovery hardness is higher than 50HRC, and it has super mirror machinability.

2. Suitable for fluorine-containing plastics or flame-retardant (fluorine-containing) plastic molds with corrosive gases.

3. It is suitable for molds with high requirements on strength and corrosion.

Six. Product Detailed Information

FT64 mold steel is martensitic stainless steel, and the Chinese grade is 4Cr13 mold steel. The hardness after quenching is higher than that of 3Cr13 mold steel, and it has good machinability. After quenching and tempering treatment, it has excellent corrosion resistance and polishing performance, and has good wear resistance and strength.

FT64 mold steel is suitable for making plastic molds and transparent plastic product molds that are subjected to no-load, high wear-resistant and corrosive media. 4Cr13 mold steel can also be used for tools, nozzles, valve seats, hot oil pumps, valves, valve bearings, medical equipment, springs and other parts.

Heat treatment:

The delivery status of FT64 mold steel is: annealed delivery, with a hardness of about 235HB.

Generally, annealing is carried out at 750~800°C, holding for 4~6 hours, and air cooling at a rate of 550°C per hour when ≤50°C.

Isothermal annealing at 700~800°C, holding for 2~4 hours, then holding at 670~720°C for 2~4 hours, and cooling to 500°C every hour when ≤50°C. Annealed hardness is 235HB.

The mold will not corrode due to the influence of cooling water. Due to a certain cooling cycle, the life of the mold can be extended. The above advantages combined with the high corrosion resistance of S136 provide low maintenance costs and long mold life for the best economics. At the same time, FT64 is refined by electroslag remelting (ESR), and the structure is pure and delicate, so that the mold has good comprehensive mechanical properties and high polishing performance.

Use:

FT64 can be used with all molds. Due to the particularity of its material, it is more suitable for applications and needs in special environments.

preservative:

Injection molding materials or molds such as corrosive polyvinyl chloride acetic acid (ACETATES0) must work and be stored in a humid environment, FT64 can resist the corrosion of water vapor, weak organic acids, nitrates, carbonates, etc., molds made of FT64, Will not rust and contaminate if operating in wet environments, or using corrosive plastic materials under normal conditions. Excellent corrosion resistance is particularly exhibited if tempered to 250°C and polished to a mirror finish.

Wear resistance:

Use high-friction injection materials (including injection molds) or molds that require long working hours, such as electronic parts, disposable knives, utensils, etc...
